I often get asked why I meal prep all of my meals in advance if I can have them “fresh” each day? Here is why!

If you want to achieve your goals and stop eating those expensive, unhealthy and over processed foods, meal prepping is the right choice for you. It’s simpler than you think and will change your life forever.
Here are my 5 Simple Reasons To Start Prepping Your Meals
1. Time

If you just invest an hour once a week to prepare all your meals that you will need for the week ahead, you will save yourself so much time compared to making your individual meals each day.
It’s all done in one go and easily accessible to you by simply going to the fridge/freezer and taking out the meals you need for the day.
The time I save making endless meals "fresh" each day, is now spend with my family, friends, etc, making every moment count!
2. Saves Money

Each time you buy a lunch or a meal out, you pay anything from $5-$15 or even more depending on where you go of course. My prepped lunch of 5oz chicken, cup of rice or sweet potato and a cup of veg come to less than $1.50 per meal!
If you take into account how many meals you need to eat and how much you are paying for bought lunches vs making your own, you will clearly see how much you can save by making your own.
3. Simplicity

Each morning I just open my fridge/freezer door (and yes, this is my fridge) and take out my meals for the day. All done, packed and ready to eat.
No standing in a long queue to place an order for lunch or pay for a cheap microwave meal. With my own meals, I am getting exactly what I want, the way I like it and it tastes amazing.
4. Macro Friendly Meals

My prepped meals are exactly measured and weighed, will have the right balance of protein, carbs and fats, as well as being healthy and nutritious.
No more guessing what's in the meal you’re having from your local deli or restaurant. In my meals I know exactly what I am getting.
5. Control

It’s so easy to finish off a double portion of those yummy carbs that are on your plate when you buy a hot meal for lunch, because you are hungry and our brains just simply shut off, allowing us to dig into those carbs and fats without thinking.
When you prepare your own food, you simply eat what you have prepped… no guilty conscience after, no risk of overeating and most importantly you stay on track for your goals.
Summary

Meal prepping will change your life. It’s certainly very easy to justify the hour once a week, where I prep all my meals and am done with it.
I enjoy cooking, but I enjoy spending time with my family and saving money more.
