This Beginner Workout Routine will give your body a chance to adjust, get you used to the strain your body will go through in future workouts and set you up for the best possible path on your workout journey . 


You will also learn the basics of weightlifting, which is very important if you want to prevent injury!


A lot of times, people think…”ah, it’s only moving weight from point A to point B…how difficult can that be…?!”

To those people I always say that if you know that a footballer or any other type of athlete needs to put in the time to learn how to do their skill correctly, why would you think lifting weight is any different?

Follow the below 9 week training guide and make sure you have access to the following equipment.


  • Barbell

  • Weights

  • Bench

  • Power/Squat Rack or Squat Stands


Here is the Best Beginner Workout Routine

Start building muscle and size with this 9 week 5x5 workout routine.


3 workout days, each exercise is repeated for 5 sets for 5 reps. 


Be sure to execute each rep slowly, focus on the muscle you are working and keep your rest between sets to a max of 1min.


Try to increase the weight by 1.25kg-2.5kg each week.

Persevere, even if things get tough and most of all, be safe when you perform these lifts. If you don't have a spotter, only perform safe lifts with weight that challenges you, but hat you are able to manage safely.
