5 Best Wireless Headphones for the gym (2023)

Updated: Jan 16, 2023

What are the best workout headphones while working out in my home gym...? Well, let’s be honest, this mightn’t be the most important question for anyone who is working out in their home gym, as most of us have a radio or a speaker system setup while working out.

However, I have found myself being able to focus on my workout more, when I have the proper music playing and I cannot hear anything else in my immediate surroundings.

And I know what you are thinking…there are so many headphones to choose from, not just in style and type, but also based on what phone you have…is it an Android or are you an Apple user for example…

So let me make it very simple for you…

Here is the clear winner for the Best Wireless Headphones for working out in 2023.

Doesn't matter if you are an Android or an Apple user, your best choice of headphones will always be the Powerbeats Pro Wireless Headphones from Beats!

You can easily pair these with either Android or your IOS device.

If you are an Android user, pairing these Powerbeats Pro Wireless is simply done by pressing the button inside the carrier case and following the steps on your Android device. Done in seconds.

If you are an IOS user, you can connect these easily to your iPhone by opening the case of the Powerbeats Pro Wireless and just like with a pair of Airpods, your IOS device will show the option to connect your Powerbeats Pro Wireless headphones with your iPhone.

You can argue with me all you want, but these have been my go to headphones since they came out in 2019 for fit, sound and you just can't beat that price at just $131.69 on Amazon right now!

They are a solid piece of hardware that will sit well in your ears as you move, bounce around and lift some weight, as they come with their secure-fit earhooks that wrap around the back of your ears.

The silicone ear tips included, come in different sizes, to further help with the fit of these in-ear style headphones.

You can simply replace the standard silicone ear tip that the headphones come with, for another one that fits in your ear canal better, providing a good seal to fully immerse yourself in the music you are listening to, drowning out the ambient noise around you.

You can also listen with a friend, while having more then one set of Powerbeats Pro Wireless connected to an iPhone, as you can pair two sets to the phone and both enjoy the same songs/playlist while working out.

Each earbud has dual audio control that will allow you to adjust the volume and the track (pause, play, forward, back, etc.) and if you are an IOS user, you can even use the “Hey Siri” command for the ever popular IOS voice assistant, without having to touch your phone once..

The Powerbeats Pro Wireless also have a long battery life which allows me to get almost a week's worth of listening while I workout, before I even need to consider charging them again.

And if I do have to put them on charge, I simply place them back into their charging case which will give me about 3 more charges, before I need to charge the actual case. You just can’t beat that.

Ad to the mix that they are sweat and water resistant and you have the perfect pair of workout headphones.

Oh…and they sound great too!

For any IOS user, this is really a simple choice as the simplicity of you just being able to connect them up to your IOS device and their great sound, is really why these are so popular for so many years now with their original OG Airpods and then their 1st Gen Pro’s.

Certainly a solid choice if you are already in the Apple eco-system and are looking for more than just a pair or workout headphones.

But the reason why they aren’t my number one, is that they can fall out of your ear when you workout and in a gym that can lead to broken Airpods very quickly.

Samsung has created some great in-ear headphones over the years now and the Buds 2 Pro are no exception.

They are water resistant, noise canceling and sound great. Overall a solid choice, especially if you are already in the Samsung eco-system.

They come in some cool fun colors too, so you are sure to find a pair that will suit your personality.

I own a pair of these myself which are my daily headphones I use for most things outside of the gym, such as work or going for a walk.

They have some of the best audio and voice quality of any headphones out there. Your voice can clearly be heard by the person you speak to, even if there is noise or strong winds around you, making it great for work calls for me because I am often outdoors when taking or making calls. Battery life and the hardware is also very good.

However, I wouldn’t use them for a workout despite their great in-ear fit. The little wing that sits in your ear, rather than around it, is great for making sure it doesn’t fall out, but cannot compete with the former mentioned Powerbeats Pro Wireless.

For this price however @$89.99, they are a solid budget option, which is why I purchased a pair myself!

If you are an Android user, you can even use Google Assistant with it by simply saying “Hey Google” and asking it to do things for you, like controlling your music volume, check the weather, or ask it to add something to your shopping list.

If you can afford to stretch your budget a little further and want even better Google in-ear headphones, the Google Pixel Buds Pro, come with all the same features as the A-Series, but have even better battery life, have wireless charging, are noise canceling and have a transparency mode, or switch from listening to music on your phone, to taking a call on your laptop.

The touch controls are also some of the best and most accurate out there in my opinion when it comes to taking a call, or controlling the volume, activating the Google Assistant, etc.

They are decent all-around headphones and will do you well if you are working out with them, as they are water resistant and sit well in your ear thanks to the very comfortable silicon tips.

If they are good enough for Lewis Hamilton, they are good enough for you! But in all seriousness, Bose is known for their high quality products and audio equipment. If you have the money to afford these, you should not hesitate to grab a pair, as these will outshine other headphones when it comes to the listening experience. Do you want these in your gym where they could get damaged…hell no!

Summary

My personal favorite for the price, sound quality and fit while working out, it has to be the Powerbeats Pro Wireless headphones as a clear winner, regardless if you are an Android or IOS user.

If you are on a budget however, the mostly underrated but yet brilliant Google Pixel Bud A-Series are a great all-rounder for anyone who has a limited budget, but are looking for a pair of headphones that will not let you down and can handle a lot for their small price.
